Safely in Korea!
After a very long flight, over 17 hours in a plane, I am happy to say that I am in Daejeon. It's already been a whirlwind of activity with the school, but I am so thankful for all that has been taken care of already. The school has made this transition so much easy that it could have been without all the help they have given. I've learned how to say hello and thank you and some things that are important to Koreans, like handing them something or receiving something with two hands. Koreans ask people their age and sometimes weight and other personal things usually right away, so I'll have to get used to that. We had a massive afternoon of hospital work to get our arrival card so we could start a bank account. It was the most rapid body check I've ever been through. Everything from drawing blood, urine sample, doctor check: do you have any problems with you body?- short and sweet!, chest x-ray, vision, hearing, height, weight and blood pressure. I think I was done in about 20 minutes. Now, why can't we do it that fast in the states?? My apartment is great- more than I expected, bigger, and nicer than I expected. It's only about 4 minutes from the school. I have to go now to play volleyball with some other new staff, so I'll write more another day!
